We know it is hard to balance everything in your life that you are doing right now. Between school, work and your personal life, life is hectic. You may want to contribute and do your part for the environment but don’t have the time to join our group. That’s okay, we understand.
Here we have created lists of 5, 10, 15 and 20 things you can do to help out. Want something simple to do? Read the Top 5 Things You Can Do To Help. As you get better and more into what you’re doing, read the next list. Each list has new ways to help out but don’t feel that you need to do things in the order they occur. Top 5 Things You Can Do To Help
1) Riding a bike or taking the bus to school, work or to go shopping.
2) Use a dishwasher. (Some use less water than washing by hand!)
3) Use cloth grocery bags.
4) Reuse plastic bags (grocery and/or zip-lock)
5) Reuse glass jars or other plastic containers
Top 10 Things You Can Do To Help
1) Recycle (Paper, Plastic, Cardboard, and Glass)
2) Hang-dry your clothes
3) Plant trees in your backyard. Everyone loves trees!
4) Compost
5) Have worm bins
6) Bring a bag with you when you visit the beach to pick up garbage and other items left behind
7) Support companies that grow fair trade items like Coffee and Chocolate
8) Buy organic food and other organic products
9) Support local businesses (By Buying locally grown fruits and vegetables along with other products)
10) Wear a sweater, socks or down booties to keep warmer in the winter without turning up the heat.

1) Write to your prime ministers/premiers/government workers to encourage them to make positive environmental choices and to protect important ecosystems
2) Buy a real Christmas tree and pot it so you can later use if for your yard
3) Boycott items that have been taken from endangered species: Blue fin Tuna, Shark capsules, Shark fin soup, Swordfish
4) Replace incandescent (regular) light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs.
5) Install low-flow faucets and shower heads
6) Insulate your hot water heater and pipes to prevent heat loss.
7) Unplug appliances (toasters, hair dryers, stereos) when not in use
8) Turn the water off while you brush your teeth
9) Put rocks in your toilet tank – You won’t notice!
10) Use a power strip for systems you don't need while you sleep to make it easier to shut down your entertainment centre or computer equipment
11) Use outside air in your car instead of air conditioning and roll down the windows for a healthy breeze

13) Stop using plastic water bottles, bring your own with you.
