                                  AWARENESS AT HIGHLAND

Since its founding in December 2008 the Eco-Team has worked towards creating a greener Highland Secondary and we have taken numerous initiatives in order to reach our goals. Some of the methods we have used include in school assemblies; in which we sought to bring a greater understanding of the recycling methods and bring to light the wasteful practices of the school and community. In addition we’ve organized garbage pickups, school wide poster campaigns, photo board displays, and environmentally oriented “Green Days.”
Through these efforts we have sought to show the individual student how much of a positive effect that they can have.
In the future we hope to help every student realize the part they can play in protecting the environment so that they can take that knowledge with them anywhere they might go in their lives.
